New and Used Skoda Cars
Just like any other major manufacturing country in Europe, the Czech Republic prides itself in its century-old used Skoda automobiles. Skoda has been around since 1895 starting like many other vehicle producers by making local bicycles until they finally began venturing into exports during the 1900s, which led to its popularity and financial successes for new and used Skoda cars.
Skoda was able to manufacture quality new / used Skoda cars that were known around the globe in spite of having been surrounded by both political and managerial turmoil during the end of the Second World War. Some of the most popular versions of Skoda are the used Skoda 1201 of 1959, the used Skoda Octavia 1961 and the used Skoda 110R of the 1980s. The Skoda's 110R is perhaps one of the most successful due to its elegant design yet competitive price rate. It is comparable to the then Porsche model frames but at relatively reasonable pricing where the company commanded one tenth of the original price of that of the heavily priced Porsches.
In spite of the emerging sports car models in Europe during the 1960s to the 1980s, Skoda continuously produced older used Skoda models patterned after the cars made during the 1960's. At one time, one of the Skoda's prominent styles, the Rapid, was tagged as the 'Poor Man's Porsche' during the 1980s.
The same model went into production for many years until a new design was unveiled in the UK during 1996. Political changes affected Skoda as well as other automobile industries in the business during the 1990's and this led to the selling of part of its shares to the Volkswagen (until Skoda finally became a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group).
Among the newer models from the Skoda range are the Skoda Fabia, which is also available in an estate and the new & used Skoda Roomster, which is available with a free specification upgrade from licensed Skoda UK dealerships. Both are the start of future car innovation for Skoda.
Similarly, the Skoda Octavia and Superb mark quite higher than the others in its range. The Superb series is available in various different models and price ranges, making it available to a wider audience of buyers.
In the used cars marketplace, the used Skoda Octavia is a particularly popular option followed not far behind by the used Skoda Fabia. Both cars provide excellent value and have helped Skoda in changing peoples' perception of the company.
