New and Used Mercedes-benz Cars
The list of new and used Mercedes cars that made marks in the course of history is never ending. The first to do this was the new & used Mercedes SSK, which was introduced in 1928. The SSK is known as the "legendary racing car".
During the time when everyone was still busy manufacturing the average vehicle, Mercedes already developed the ultimate racing auto of its era. The numerous races won by the SSK were responsible for making it known as the legendary racing car. Unfortunately the SSK is not easily available for sale in the used Mercedes marketplace!
There are many facts attached to the Mercedes SSK. The acronym, SSK, actually means Super Sport Kurz. "Kurz" is a German word that means short. Yes, the car is a relatively short one with just 19 inches cut off its chassis. Interestingly, the SSK is the last creation of the notable engineer Ferdinand Porsche with Mercedes before he left the company to pursue his own brand of cars away from new/used Mercedes cars.
Another Mercedes car etched in the walls of history is the new & used Mercedes-Benz 260 D, being the very first car to run on diesel fuel. This happened in 1936. Traditionally, diesel engines were designed for heavy equipment and non-passenger vehicles. The innovation of a passenger car running on a diesel engine was materialised by Mercedes through the 260 D. The model name of the car came from its cubic capacity and through its 2545 cc overhead valve and 4 cylinder engines; the new/used Mercedes 260 D was able to go as fast as 95 km/h (59 miles per hour).
Two years later, Mercedes created the W125 Rekordwagen. The W125 Rekordwagen was an experimental used Mercedes car patterned from Grand Prix cars. However, it had a heavier body and a larger engine compared to the standards Grand Prix cars normally adhere too. The record that made the W125 Rekordwagen significant in car history happened when Rudolf Caracciola drove it on January 28th, 1938. The world record of 432.7 km/h or a whopping 268.867 miles per hour made the car unbeaten and allowed Mercedes to hold the record for the fastest timed speed achieved on a public road. The ceremonious day happened one morning between Frankfurt and Darmstadt. Those who were present that day would surely remember how the Rekordwagen tore the road with its loud engine roar that went past them like a silver line.
The success of new / used Mercedes cars is a direct result of the strict standards that the company employs in their cars upon being manufactured. Today, the company continues to sell massive numbers is both the new Mercedes and used Mercedes marketplace. For those not able to afford new, buying a used Mercedes Benz vehicle is equally satisfying given that all used Mercedes never lose their undeniable appeal.
