New and Used Mazda Cars

Mazda is one of the most prolific car manufacturers in the world for their range of new and used Mazda cars. In 2007, the company sold more than 1.2 million new and used Mazda automobiles worldwide, with most of these coming from its main plants in Japan.

In 2008, Mazda released a fleet of eight cars that ranged from sedans and SUV's to hybrid and convertibles cars. In 2009, the company promises to top worldwide new/used Mazda car sales with its upcoming team of nine brand new and updated models.

The most expensive Mazda car sold in 2008 was the 2008 Mazda CX-9 (now available as a used Mazda CX-9 in the second hand car market). It is a carryover from the 2007 model, which was extremely popular as a used Mazda purchase. The increase in engine displacement is an improvement though, from 3.5 litres, the CX-9 now runs with a 3.7 litre engine. Known to many as the most modern station wagon, this 7 seated sports utility vehicle houses a powerful V6, 270 horsepower engine, which is capable of reaching 16 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon when on the motorway.

The CX-9 series come in six different trims - the CX-9 sport FWD, Sport AWD, Touring AWD, Touring FWD, Grand Touring FWD and Grand Touring AWD. Mazda first introduced the CX-9 to the public in 2006 at the New York International Auto Show, but it went main stream only in February of 2007. Although reviewers notice its resemblance to the Ford CD3 platform, they are giving it decent ratings for the car's appearance, comfort, performance and value. The used Mazda CX-9 is currently extremely prominent in the used car sector.

Its price tag may have dropped significantly in 2008, but the updated Mazda 6 is still the most expensive sedan in the fleet. It also has the most versions with 13 trims, ranging from sports to five door grand touring sedans. The iSport Sedan Sport trim in particular, has a 2.3 litre 156 horsepower engine capable of 21- 29 mpg. The five door Grand Touring trims run on 3.0 litres, 212 hp engines, capable of 18 - 25 mpg. Used Mazda iSport Sedan Sport trims are currently available for bargain prices throughout the UK.

Auto experts have mixed reviews about the new/used Mazda 6 versions. They all agree though that in terms of fuel efficiency, all 13 trims get the thumbs up. Various institutions honoured the Mazda 6 with such awards as Car and Driver's Ten Best, Second Placed European Car of the Year, Canadian Car of the Year, Australia's Best Mid-Sized Car and most recently, the 2007 Australian Car Sales People's Choice Award. Therefore both new & used Mazda 6's dominated such ceremonies.

The 2009 release of the Mazda 6 will have a model running on 272 horsepower while the 2009 version of the CX-9 will house a 273 hp engine. Both used Mazda 6's and used Mazda CX-9's are still available but Mazda felt the need for an upgrade. Other upcoming releases are the 2009 Mazda Speed 3, Mazda Tribute and Mazda RX-8. Part of Mazda's success in the automobile industry is its keen sense of perfection. Its growing numbers of trims and models, perhaps, has contributed to Mazda car's attractive prices and, as noted above, the prominence of used Mazda cars are an extremely popular choice for buyers.
