New and Used Land Rover Cars

The Land Rover was not the first utility vehicle in the world. In fact, its chief designer Maurice Wilks patterned the car after the popular Jeep model, which American soldiers used during the World War II.

Jeep, however, became too impractical to use after the war for the Jeep's transporting capabilities were limited. Both the government and farmers needed a vehicle that will serve them more than just transporting goods. The new and used Land Rover then came not just as a solution, but also an innovation.

Of the four models, the 2008 Land Rover Range Rover is the most expensive. The latest version is a four door sport utility luxury car that can carry five passengers. The 2008 release is available in two types; the Supercharged and the HSE (both popular as used Land Rover buys). Both trims have the same six speed automatic transmission. The only difference is that the HSE has a 4.4 litre engine while the Supercharges is capable only of 4.2 litres. This car is best for the adventurous yet sophisticated driver. Reviewers call it a great combination of a Mercedes and a military hummer.

The 2008 Land Rover Ranger Rover Sport is the cheaper version of the Range Rover. This is also available in both HSE and Supercharged trims. The maximum mileage of the Range Rover Sport in the city is 12 mpg. On the motorway, the maximum mileage is 18 mpg. Reviewers call it the best sports SUV that Land Rover has ever released from its used Land Rover range, although, there are some complaints in terms of maintenance.

The 2008 Land Rover LR3 beats the Ranger Rover and Range Rover Sport in terms of passenger capacity. This four door vehicle can accommodate seven passengers. Both the HSE and the SE trims have a V8, 300 horse power and 4.4 litre capacity engine that can reach 12 miles per gallon when in the city, and 17 mpg on the motorway. The LR3 is not only economical in price, but also in fuel consumption. Reviewers say it is the most comfortable SUV since there is plenty of room. Not bad though for an off-road vehicle. The used Land Rover LR3 is especially popular to UK car buyers.

Both the SE and the HSE may only have a 230 hp engine, but they can reach 16 to 23 miles per gallon. Reviewers give it positive feedback for its interior, fuel efficiency and off-road and GPS navigation. Each vehicle type retains value as a used Land Rover, making it an exciting purchase for buyers.

From utility to versatility, the new and used Land Rover fleet is unquestionably one of the best SUVs in the world. It is not only successful in scouring the toughest the terrains but it also captures the hearts of the adventurous driver.

Within the second hand car marketplace, buyers are able to purchase an older, used Land Rover cars that still having the performance of a new purchase. In fact purchases of used Land Rover cars continue to have a big say on overall market trend of sales for Land Rover.
