New and Used Fiat Cars
The Fiat Spa or the Fiat Group was established in 1899 by a group of investors headed by Giovanni Agnelli. Initially focused on the manufacture of new and used Fiat automobiles, the company has evolved into a conglomeration with interest in finance to aircraft, tanks and engine manufacturing.
It is the largest industrial group in Italy with more than 1,000 companies in its fold operating in 61 countries.
Fiat is the largest car manufacturer in Italy and produces new and used Fiat cars. These include the Fiat compacts and the sports cars made by Ferrari, an independently run subsidiary. The Fiat automobile group consists of Alfa Romeo Automobiles, Abarth, Fiat Automobiles, Lancia Automobiles and Fiat Professional. Of course the companies' main winners are their newer and used Fiat cars of the Fiat brand, which have become known worldwide.
From 1867 to 2001, new and used Fiat cars have won a total of 12 European Car of the Year awards, which no other European car manufacturer has achieved. The new and used Fiat Uno adjudged the best European car in 1984 is also included in the top 20 all time best selling cars in the world with a total worldwide sales of more than 8 million units.
The Uno, a super mini, was introduced to replace another European car winner, but outdated, Fiat 127. It won many accolades for its fuel economy, airy interior space and for a body design, which did much to reduce air drug. Later the Uno underwent an improvement, which further enhanced its performance and fuel efficiency. In 1995 the Italian production of the Uno was stopped to be replaced by the Fiat Punto but the Brazilian production of the Uno continued. The new / used Fiat Punto won the European Award the same year it was launched.
One of the most popular new & used Fiat cars is the Panda. A family car, the panda is a cross between a mini SUV and a mini MPV. It enjoyed great retail success in Italy. In addition, the Top Gear Motoring Survey of 2006 ranked the Panda 8th among 152 cars reviewed for craftsmanship, reliability, ownership costs, driving experience and service received. The Panda won the European Best Car Award in 2004. The car is still available today as a used Fiat Panda and is still as popular.
Other new/used Fiat car winners of the Best European Card awards are the Alfa Romeo, a compact executive car, which enjoyed substantial success for its brand and won the award in 1998, the Romeo 147, a small family car, which won the award in 2001 and the Fiat Nouva 500, which won the 2008 award. Whether it is a new or used Fiat, popularity is guaranteed.
The string of awards that Fiat has won establishes its premier position among European car makers. Their designs are focused on giving its cars good functionality in terms of space, fuel economy, looks and road performance. The fact that many used Fiat vehicles are still selling today shows just how well thought of they are by buyers of today. With the new cars having stalled in 2007/2008, the second hand car market boomed and so many use Fiat vehicles were purchased.
