New and Used Cadillac Cars

Founded back in 1902, Cadillac once operated under the name of the Cadillac Automobile Company. A few years later, General Motors purchased the company - marking a wise decision, because during the next 30 years, Cadillac was able to establish itself as the premier luxury car of America.

In fact, new and used Cadillac vehicle sales were able to reach more than 50 countries and territories - a huge portion of this in the North America.

As a car company, Cadillac did contribute so much to the automotive industry. For example, they pioneered so many of the car accessories seen in the market today. These include the steel roof design, the clash-less manual transmission and the full electrical systems we see in modern cars. Aside from this, Cadillac was also able to develop 3 reliable car engines. The most important of these being the V8, commonly known as the set standard engine in today's automotive industry.

The foundation of Cadillac as a company is actually based on the remnants of what was known as the Henry Ford Company. This company dissolved when Henry Ford and other key members of the business began to leave. With the intention of liquidating the assets of the firm, the financial backers of Ford, Lemuel Bowen and William Murphy, had the equipment and the plant itself appraised. The appraiser hired was Henry M. Leland, the owner of Leland & Faulconer Manufacturing Company, and he persuaded Bowen and Murphy to continue operations. This time, it would be with the use of Leland's 1-cylinder engine. The Cadillac Automobile Company was then born.

Both new / used Cadillac cars are known for their designer-styled bodywork. A lot of innovative bodywork designs can be attributed to the genius of Cadillac designers. These include the shatter-resistant glass, the "turret top", tailfins, "memory seat" functions, the first air conditioning / automatic heater system, climate control features, driver airbags, fibre-optic warning system, plus much more.

Over the years, Cadillac has gained a steady portion of the market, with new & used Cadillac car models aimed at the upper class market. Models, such as the used Cadillac Eldorado, used Cadillac Seville, used Cadillac DeVille, Fleetwood, Cimarron, Allante, Brougham, Escalade and the used Cadillac CTS have consistently impressed. One of today's favourites is the Cadillac Converj Concept. It is actually a plug-in hybrid car that shares its Voltec platform with Chevrolet's Volt. The Cadillac Converj Concept was unveiled at the 2009 North American International Auto Show.
